Chelsea & Real Madrid: Eden Hazard’s price tag revealed

Eden Hazard

Chelsea & Real Madrid

One of the transfer stories which is set to dominate the summer is Eden Hazard’s probable move from Chelsea to Real Madrid.

The Belgian is yet to sign a new deal at Stamford Bridge with his contract set to expire in the summer of 2020.

Could Hazard be coaxed into putting pen to paper on a new deal with the Blues?

According to the Independent’s Miguel Delaney, it’s highly unlikely that Hazard will agree a new deal with Chelsea. Readers are told:

The Belgian has no intention of signing a new deal at Stamford Bridge.

Of course, Hazard has remained cagey about his future whenever he’s regularly asked about links to Real Madrid.

However the playmaker has repeatedly spoken about his admiration for Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane.

Eden Hazard’s price tag revealed

The Independent outline the finances surrounding any Real Madrid move for Hazard:

Chelsea are holding out for over £100m from Real Madrid for Eden Hazard, although sources close to both Stamford Bridge and the Bernabeu feel that the move will take place this summer.

This 100 million pound valuation has been bandied about for some time.

That figure was also recently revealed by the Evening Standard, who added that Chelsea are preparing a counter-offer for their star player:

(Chelsea are) prepared to offer well in excess of £300,000 a week to ensure he remains at Stamford Bridge.

When it comes to Hazard’s valuation, it’s also worth remembering what Jose Mourinho once said about the Belgian.

Back in 2015, in Mourinho’s second spell with the Blues, he claimed Hazard is worth 200 million pounds:

£100m each leg – he’s very young… Plus one of (Real Madrid’s) three best players.
