Euro Paper Talk: Barca snub leaves Liverpool, Arsenal in prime position to land Germany starlet; Spurs make January midfielder bid

Liverpool and Arsenal are hot on the trail of a teenage Salzburg attacker, while Tottenham have bid for a new midfielder – all in Friday’s European press.

Barcelona have reportedly had a bid rejected for Red Bull Salzburg’s Karim Adeyemi, leaving Liverpool and Arsenal in prime position to land the young attacker.

Back in August, Adeyemi was awarded the gold Fritz Walter Medal by the German Football Association (DFB) – which is awarded to the best young talents in German football.

After receiving the honour the 17-year-old hinted that his future may lie away from the Austrian club, saying: “This award makes me very proud and at the same time a great motivation to continue on my path.”

Adeyemi’s talents are known to have attracted interest from across Europe, with Barca already having a €15m offer rejected by Salzburg, according to Transfermarkt.

But now it would appear that the Reds and the Gunners are ready to try their luck to land the player, who is currently on loan from Salzburg to FC Liefering in the Austrian second tier.

He has already contributed seven goals and five assists in 13 games this season.
