Following public allegations of a forced and failed union, the Nollywood star’s candid Instagram message about a cheating husband has fans questioning the state of her own marriage to actor Frederick Leonard.
Nollywood actress Peggy Ovire has set social media abuzz with speculation about her marriage to fellow actor Frederick Leonard, after sharing a detailed and emotional post about infidelity.
In a lengthy message on her Instagram, Ovire painted a vivid scenario, directly addressing her female followers. She asked what a woman should do upon discovering her husband is having an affair with a married mother.
The actress described a pattern of deceit where a husband publicly praises another woman, while privately telling his wife the woman is “local” to avoid suspicion. The post details a wife’s discovery of secret meetings at the husband’s apartment or hotels, and the painful comparisons the husband begins to draw after marriage.
“Your husband always hypes the married woman in public, but privately he tells you how local this friend of his is, just to manipulate you so you will not suspect a thing,” Ovire wrote.
While she did not name any individuals, the timing and personal nature of the post have led many to connect it to her own relationship. The speculation is fueled by past controversy: in 2024, veteran producer Stanley Ontop publicly alleged that Ovire and Leonard’s marriage was “forced” and had already ended.
The couple, who tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in November 2022, have not publicly addressed Ontop’s claims. Ovire’s latest post, however, has fans and followers reading between the lines, wondering if the actress is drawing from personal experience and signaling trouble in her high-profile marriage.
