Nollywood star Sarah Martins is recovering in hospital after a sudden collapse, a shocking incident she says was the result of months of non-stop work without a single day of rest.
The actress shared the frightening experience with her fans on Instagram, describing how she woke up unable to feel parts of her body. “For a second, I felt lifeless,” she wrote. Despite this alarming feeling, she pushed herself to go to her shop to handle inventory and conduct job interviews. It was there that she finally slumped and was rushed to the hospital.
Doctors conducted a battery of over 32 tests, checking for conditions including cancer, fibroid issues, and infections like malaria and typhoid. All results came back negative. The diagnosis was not a specific disease, but pure physical collapse.
“All through December, I worked every single day,” Martins explained. “I just kept working—no days off, no rest. I was like a walking corpse, working tirelessly to cater for others and forgetting myself.”

Now on mandatory bed rest, the actress remains hopeful. “I am typing this from a sick bed, but I will be fine,” she said, expressing gratitude for her health. “They said I’m extremely exhausted and need proper bed rest. Thank you, Heavenly Father, for your constant protection.” Her story serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of burnout, even for the most dedicated.
