African Music Shines Bright at 2025 Headies Awards

Rema, Tems, and Odumodublvck Take Center Stage in Star-Studded Lagos Celebration

The 17th Headies Awards lit up Lagos on Sunday night, delivering unforgettable moments as Africa’s brightest music stars claimed their trophies. This year’s ceremony not only celebrated current chart-toppers but also introduced fresh talent to the global stage.

Newcomer Zerry DL kicked off the wins by snagging Rookie of the Year, while Afrobeats superstar Davido added another accolade to his collection as Digital Artist of the Year.

The crowd erupted when Rema’s groundbreaking album “HEIS” won Afrobeats Album of the Year, and Tems’ hauntingly beautiful “Burning” earned Best Recording honors.

One of the night’s most electric moments came when Odumodublvck beat stiff competition to claim the coveted Next Rated Artist award, triumphing over fellow rising stars Shallipopi, Qing Madi, and Ayo Maff.
