Emeka Rollas reveals private pleas and public clashes, stating the actress “needs help” and criticizing Ned Nwoko’s handling of their private disputes.
In a striking public intervention, Emeka Rollas, the President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), has broken his long-held silence on the marital controversies surrounding actress Regina Daniels and her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko. In an extensive Instagram post, Rollas explained he broke his silence out of concern for Daniels and to correct the public record on several misrepresented events.
Rollas, who knows both parties personally, stated he had previously remained quiet out of respect, noting that Nwoko is the Chairman of the AGN’s Board of Patrons and that Daniels is a guild member. “Since this is essentially a family matter, I chose to remain silent not out of fear, but out of respect,” he wrote.
However, he expressed deep frustration that his silence was making him a target for criticism over issues he did not create. He directly addressed colleagues who witnessed Daniels’ behavior on a recent film set, writing, “The reality is that she needs help, and your silence leaves me vulnerable.”
The AGN president then revealed specific, private details that have become points of public contention. He clarified that Nwoko had personally set a condition for Daniels to travel, stating the Senator would only allow the trip if she avoided passing through Lagos.
Rollas also recounted a tense incident at their son’s birthday party, where Nwoko reportedly expressed concern over Regina’s smoking habit in front of guests, suggesting that stopping could lead to her having a daughter. “My intention is not to shame her but to make her see she needs help,” Rollas emphasized, adding that seeking support is not a crime.
Further escalating his critique, Rollas cautioned Regina’s mother, Rita Daniels, to focus on her daughter’s well-being over “Guild ambitions,” and criticized Nwoko for airing private matters publicly. He also forcefully corrected the record on a purported ₦200 million donation, stating the funds were for Regina’s film production, not a gift to the AGN.
