Al Nassr Eye Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli After Luis Diaz Snub

Saudi Giants Turn to Brazilian Winger as Ronaldo Pushes for Summer Reinforcements

Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli has emerged as a surprise target for Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr, with the Saudi Pro League side shifting focus after failing to land Liverpool’s Luis Diaz.

The Brazilian forward, a key part of Mikel Arteta’s attack, could be tempted by a lucrative move to the Middle East as Arsenal weigh up potential reinforcements on the left flank.

Arsenal’s Winger Dilemma

The Gunners have been linked with several high-profile wingers this summer, including Real Madrid’s Rodrygo—reportedly their “dream target”—as well as Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon and Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams. However, any major signing in that position likely depends on Martinelli’s future.

Transfer expert David Ornstein revealed that while Arsenal are prioritizing a new striker, they are also exploring left-wing options. “If [Martinelli] was to leave, then you could see them maybe bringing in a top left-sided winger,” Ornstein said. “If he stays, I don’t think so.”

The club is also considering versatile backups like Chelsea’s Noni Madueke, who could provide cover for Bukayo Saka on the right while also deputizing on the left. Meanwhile, midfield targets such as Eberechi Eze and Morgan Rogers remain on their radar.

Al Nassr’s Big Move?

With the Saudi transfer window now open, Al Nassr are preparing for a major summer push after missing out on Diaz, whom Liverpool refused to sell. According to Give Me Sport, Martinelli has now become a prime alternative, with the club reportedly seeking €85 million in funding to launch a bid.

Ronaldo, who recently signed a new deal with Al Nassr, wields significant influence over their transfer strategy and is believed to have approved the pursuit of the Arsenal star. The Brazilian’s potential departure could give the Gunners the financial boost needed to chase Rodrygo or another elite replacement.

Will Arsenal Let Him Go?

Despite Al Nassr’s interest, Arsenal have not received any formal approach and are reluctant to lose Martinelli. However, a substantial offer could force them to reconsider—especially if it helps finance a marquee signing.

As the summer window heats up, all eyes will be on whether the 23-year-old remains in North London or becomes the latest star lured to Saudi Arabia’s ambitious project.
