Alexander Isak’s agent has broken his silence on the Swedish striker’s future as speculation grows over a possible blockbuster transfer—with Liverpool and Saudi clubs reportedly circling.

However, the Magpies have insisted Isak is not for sale, forcing the Reds to turn their attention to Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitike with a £70 million bid.
Now, Isak’s agent, Gonzalo Gaitan, has added fuel to the fire by suggesting a decision on the player’s next move could be imminent. Speaking to Saudi outlet Arriyadiyah, Gaitan remained coy but admitted, “We are indeed studying and analyzing all options, and we may be close to finalizing the next step for the player.”
While he avoided confirming whether Isak would stay at Newcastle or seek a new challenge, reports suggest both Liverpool and Saudi Pro League clubs are keen on securing his signature.
Howe Addresses Isak’s Absence Amid Transfer Talk
Newcastle manager Eddie Howe revealed that Isak was left out of the squad for their pre-season defeat to Celtic last weekend due to the ongoing speculation.
Howe explained his decision post-match, saying, “It was my call to send him home because of all the noise around him. The last thing he needed was to sit in the stands watching—it wouldn’t have been fair.”
Despite the uncertainty, Howe remains optimistic that Isak will still be a Newcastle player when the transfer window closes. “I’m confident he’ll be with us come the end of the summer,” he said, though he stopped short of guaranteeing the striker’s stay.
