Manchester United Boss Credits Players for October Turnaround, Insists Award “Doesn’t Matter”
Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has spoken of football’s rapid unpredictability after being named the Premier League’s Manager of the Month for October, a period that saw his team secure three consecutive victories and climb the table.
Speaking at the club’s Carrington training ground, the Portuguese coach was quick to deflect praise onto his squad following wins over Sunderland, Liverpool, and Brighton. “My feeling is that life can change really fast,” Amorim reflected. “This is not my award, it’s a team award, because they [the players] are the ones that play the game and they did a very good job.”
Despite the recognition, Amorim was already looking ahead, emphasizing that the accolade is firmly in the past. “This is from last month, so it doesn’t matter,” he stated. “In football, we just need to win this one in the next month because it means that we are winning games.”
He attributed the team’s improved form to a growing belief within the squad, pinpointing pivotal moments like scoring an early goal at Anfield against Liverpool as key to shifting the narrative around his evolving side.
The club received a double honor, with summer signing Bryan Mbeumo named Player of the Month after contributing four goals and assists in October, further signaling that Amorim’s new-look United is starting to find its rhythm.
