Youngster Set for North London Switch After Five Years at Stamford Bridge
Arsenal have reached an agreement with Chelsea to sign winger Noni Madueke in a deal worth £52 million. The 23-year-old is expected to undergo a medical in the coming days before finalizing a five-year contract, marking a significant move across London.
Madueke played a key role for Chelsea last season, helping them secure Champions League qualification and lift the Conference League trophy. However, increased competition in attack—following the arrivals of Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens—has paved the way for his departure.
Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca addressed Madueke’s situation after last week’s Club World Cup semi-final victory over Palmeiras. “Noni has been very important for us this season,” Maresca said. “But my message is clear: I only want players who are happy to be here. If anyone isn’t, they’re free to go. That’s not just about Noni—it applies to everyone.”
The England international will become Arsenal’s fourth signing of the summer, joining Christian Norgaard, Martin Zubimendi, and former Chelsea teammate Kepa Arrizabalaga as Mikel Arteta continues to strengthen his squad ahead of the new campaign.
