Arsenal and PSG Clash Over Ticket Allocation Ahead of Champions League Semifinal

French giants fume as Gunners slash away fan seats, citing security concerns amid London Marathon

Tensions are rising between Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain before their Champions League semifinal showdown, with the two clubs locked in a dispute over ticket allocations for next week’s first-leg clash at the Emirates.

PSG are furious after Arsenal rejected their request for 3,000 away tickets—the same number they received during October’s group-stage meeting—offering just 2,500 instead. The decision has sparked accusations of unfair treatment, with the Parisians reportedly lodging a formal complaint with UEFA.

Why the Reduced Allocation?

UEFA regulations recommend clubs allocate 5% of stadium capacity to visiting supporters, which at the Emirates would equate to roughly 3,000 seats. However, Arsenal have pointed to heightened security concerns, partly due to the London Marathon taking place just 48 hours before the match.

PSG, though, aren’t buying the explanation. According to L’Équipe, club officials view the move as unsporting and are pushing UEFA to enforce the full allocation. They’ve even warned of exploring “other avenues of appeal” before Tuesday’s match.

A Heated Rematch in the Making

The semifinal promises fireworks on and off the pitch. Arsenal comfortably beat PSG 2-0 in the group stage, but Luis Enrique’s side have since evolved into a formidable force, eliminating Liverpool and Aston Villa in the knockout rounds.

Now, with a place in the final at stake, the ticket row has added extra spice to an already mouthwatering tie. Will UEFA intervene, or will PSG’s traveling support be left shortchanged? One thing’s certain: the Emirates will be rocking—even if a few hundred Parisian fans miss out.
