Negotiations underway as Arsenal seeks agreement with Chelsea for Havertz transfer.
In an ongoing transfer saga, Arsenal has reportedly entered discussions with Chelsea over the possible acquisition of midfielder Kai Havertz. Similar to their negotiations for Declan Rice, it is expected that the Gunners will require some time to reach an agreement with the Blues.
According to renowned transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal’s initial bid for Havertz was turned down by Chelsea. Romano further revealed on Twitter that talks between the two clubs will continue. The Gunners’ bid is reported to be around £55 million, while Chelsea is said to be seeking a higher fee in the range of £70-75 million. With such a significant disparity in valuation, both teams will need to address several points of contention to strike a deal.
Ben Jacobs, speaking to GiveMeSport, stated that Arsenal is prepared to “walk away” if no progress is made in the negotiations. He highlighted how Real Madrid swiftly withdrew from the race due to Chelsea’s valuation of the 24-year-old German international.
However, Jacobs also mentioned that Arsenal remains confident in their ability to secure a deal for Havertz. He explained, “Similar to Real Madrid, Arsenal has a top-end number in mind for Havertz, which they won’t exceed. If Chelsea maintains their valuation, Arsenal will walk away. But Arsenal is optimistic that the price may decrease, and they believe Havertz may be open to the move.”
The outcome of the discussions between Arsenal and Chelsea will greatly impact the potential transfer of Kai Havertz. Arsenal’s stance of being willing to withdraw from negotiations if their set limits are not met, coupled with their optimism regarding a potential decrease in price, adds intrigue to the ongoing saga. Football enthusiasts and fans alike will closely monitor the developments surrounding Havertz’s future, eagerly awaiting the resolution of this high-profile transfer saga.
