Gunners in Contact with Nigerian Forward Amid Competition from PSG

Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Victor Osimhen from Napoli, as they seek to strengthen their attacking options. The Nigerian striker, who has also been linked with Chelsea, is now a target for The Gunners, who are making moves to bring him to London.

Osimhen has been prolific for Napoli, scoring 76 goals in 133 appearances since his transfer from Lille in July 2020. His contributions were crucial in helping the club secure their first Serie A title in over three decades.

“Arsenal have been in contact with Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, who Jose Mourinho has likened to legendary marksman Didier Drogba,” reports the Mirror. “The Gunners’ need for a true number 9 is well documented, and it should come as no surprise that they were one of many who expressed interest in Osimhen.”

While Arsenal have shown interest, they are not yet the frontrunners for his signature. According to Di Marzio, no concrete negotiations have developed between the club and the striker. In contrast, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have reportedly made Osimhen one of their top priorities, positioning themselves as a strong contender for his services.

As the transfer window progresses, Arsenal’s pursuit of Osimhen will be closely watched, especially with the competition from PSG, which could make the Nigerian forward’s future one of the most intriguing storylines of the summer transfer market.
