Arsenal is positioning itself to capitalize on the growing unrest at Real Madrid, with manager Mikel Arteta identifying Brazilian winger Rodrygo as a prime transfer target to bolster his attacking options.

According to a report from Fichajes, the 24-year-old is eager to secure a move away from the Bernabeu as early as January, frustrated by his limited role under manager Xabi Alonso. With just 327 minutes of playing time this season, Rodrygo is pushing for a change to ensure he features prominently ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

The Gunners are expected to face stiff competition from rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Atletico Madrid for his signature. While Rodrygo reportedly sees the Premier League as a “favourable” destination, any deal would require a “strong offer,” with his value currently estimated around €72.5 million.

Rodrygo’s potential exit is just one part of a wider storm brewing in Madrid. German outlet Bild reports that the club’s turmoil extends to his compatriot, Vinicius Junior. The star forward’s relationship with the club has reportedly soured following his angry reaction to being substituted in a recent El Clasico victory.

While Vinicius publicly apologized, Real Madrid’s hierarchy is said to be concerned by a pattern of “extravagant behaviours.” The situation has escalated, with the club reportedly believing he has been the source of leaks to the media questioning Alonso’s leadership. President Florentino Perez is now faced with a major decision, with Bild stating the club is prepared to sell the forward to send a message that “none are bigger than the club.”

This perfect storm of discontent has put European rivals on high alert, with Arsenal hoping to be the first to benefit by luring a coveted Brazilian talent to North London.
