Arsenal in Advanced Talks to Sign RB Leipzig Striker Benjamin Šeško

Gunners Reignite Interest in Slovenian Star After Disappointing Season for Leipzig

Arsenal have entered “concrete talks” with RB Leipzig over a potential summer move for highly rated striker Benjamin Šeško, according to reports from Germany. The 21-year-old Slovenian international has long been admired by the Gunners, who made him their top target last summer before he opted to stay in the Bundesliga for another season.

Šeško was reportedly impressed by Arsenal’s project last year but felt the timing wasn’t right for such a major career step. However, after a turbulent season with Leipzig—which saw the club miss out on European qualification for the first time since 2016—the young forward is now ready for a new challenge.

Despite Arsenal’s recent interest in Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyökeres, Sky Germany reports that negotiations for Šeško are progressing seriously, with a deal now “on.” Discussions are underway between Arsenal’s sporting director, Andrea Berta, and Leipzig’s Marcel Schäfer, with the Gunners likely pushing to lower the striker’s asking price.

Šeško’s release clause, which fluctuates based on performance, has reportedly surged to over €80 million—a significant increase from last year’s €50-65 million valuation. While the hefty fee initially caused hesitation, Arsenal now appear willing to make their move, betting on the young forward’s potential to shine in the Premier League.
