Arteta’s new deal secures him at the Emirates until 2027, ahead of crucial Tottenham clash.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has committed his future to the club by signing a new three-year contract, extending his stay until 2027. The 42-year-old, who has led the Gunners to back-to-back second-place Premier League finishes, had been in the final year of his previous contract.
Arteta, who took charge in 2019, downplayed concerns over his contract last month, stating his focus was on the summer transfer window. The timing of his new deal comes just days before Arsenal’s highly anticipated Premier League showdown with rivals Tottenham on Sunday.
Since leaving Manchester City’s coaching staff to replace Unai Emery at Arsenal, the former player has brought significant success to the club, including an FA Cup win in 2020 and two Community Shield triumphs in 2020 and 2023. Under Arteta’s leadership, Arsenal have reestablished themselves as title contenders, finishing runners-up to Manchester City in the last two seasons.
Currently fourth in the Premier League after three matches, the Gunners will kick off their Champions League campaign next week against Atalanta.
