Arsenal Overpowers Manchester United in Second-Half Surge

Gunners End Amorim’s Honeymoon with Dominant Display

Arsenal delivered a commanding second-half performance to secure a 2-0 victory over Manchester United, bringing Ruben Amorim’s promising start as United manager to a grinding halt.

The first half offered few sparks, though Thomas Partey missed a golden chance to capitalize on a corner, firing over from close range. The Gunners, undeterred, signaled their intent to dominate despite missing key defender Gabriel due to injury.

After the break, Arsenal found their rhythm. Jurrien Timber opened the scoring with a well-placed glancing header, setting the tone for a one-sided second half. Minutes later, Partey redeemed his earlier miss by heading a ball into the back of William Saliba, deflecting past United’s goalkeeper to double Arsenal’s lead.

United, fielding a heavily rotated lineup, showed little ambition or creativity, appearing content to settle for a draw before falling behind. Their lackluster attack left Arsenal’s defense untroubled, and the Red Devils slid back into the bottom half of the Premier League table.

Meanwhile, Arsenal’s win cuts Liverpool’s lead at the top by two points, keeping the Gunners firmly in the title race as the season progresses.
