Arsenal Secure First Champions League Win with Dominant 2-0 Victory Over PSG

Havertz and Saka lead the way as Gunners outclass French champions

Arsenal claimed their first win in the revamped UEFA Champions League with a confident 2-0 triumph over Paris Saint-Germain at the Emirates Stadium. Mikel Arteta’s side, after a draw against Atalanta in their opening game, displayed their potential to challenge for the title with a commanding performance in North London.

Kai Havertz opened the scoring in the 20th minute, heading home from a Leandro Trossard cross.

Arsenal doubled their lead before halftime when a Bukayo Saka free-kick from out wide sneaked past PSG’s goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma at the near post.

Despite PSG’s attempts to rally in the second half, including a close effort from Joao Neves that struck the crossbar, they struggled to break down Arsenal’s defense. The Gunners’ backline, led by William Saliba and Gabriel, kept the French side at bay.

The victory extends Arsenal’s unbeaten run against PSG in European competition to five matches. Arsenal now look ahead to a clash with Shakhtar Donetsk, while PSG will face PSV Eindhoven.

Bukayo Saka, who captained Arsenal, was instrumental in leading the team to a comfortable three points, as PSG’s youthful side under Luis Enrique struggled to match the physical and tactical strength of the Premier League contenders.
