Arsenal Set to Reward Bukayo Saka with New Contract as Club Prioritizes Loyalty Over Transfers

New sporting director Andrea Berta leads the charge to secure star winger’s future with a lucrative pay rise amid summer strategy plans

Arsenal are preparing to open contract negotiations with Bukayo Saka, with plans to offer the 23-year-old star winger a significant salary boost as part of a broader push to lock down the club’s core talent.

At the heart of this initiative is newly-appointed sporting director Andrea Berta, who joined the Gunners just weeks ago. While mapping out the club’s summer transfer strategy, Berta has made it clear that retaining key players is just as critical as bringing in new ones—and few are more central to Arsenal’s future than Saka.

With just over two years remaining on his current deal, Saka’s contract situation has become a quiet but growing concern for Arsenal’s leadership. Though there’s no immediate danger of the England international leaving the Emirates, Berta wants to eliminate any uncertainty early by securing a long-term commitment.

According to TBR Football, Berta is expected to make Saka one of the highest-paid players at the club. Currently earning around €225,000 per week (£195,000), Saka may soon see his wages approach those of Kai Havertz, who leads the squad on approximately €340,000 (£295,000) weekly.

Saka, whose Estimated Transfer Value stands at €113 million, has long been considered the heartbeat of Arsenal’s attack. His recent return from a three-month hamstring injury only reinforced his importance—especially after a standout performance in Arsenal’s 3-0 Champions League victory over Real Madrid.

While he remains calm about the ongoing contract discussions, Saka has reiterated his loyalty to the club.

“For me, I want to win and I want to win wearing this badge,” he said. “I don’t think anyone is really in a rush. I’ve got two years left on my contract, so it’s pretty relaxed. Everyone knows my thoughts.”

The Gunners hope to finalize the new deal before the season ends, allowing Berta and the rest of the management team to shift their focus to summer reinforcements. But for now, the priority is clear: secure the stars who have already proven their value.

With Saka leading that list, Arsenal are sending a strong message that loyalty and performance will be rewarded—on and off the pitch.
