Gunners look to bolster their attack as they target the Slovenian striker ahead of the January transfer window deadline.

Arsenal have reportedly tabled a €70 million bid for RB Leipzig forward Benjamin Sesko as they scramble to sign a new striker before the January transfer window closes. Manager Mikel Arteta has expressed the urgency of reinforcing his attacking options following Gabriel Jesus’ ACL injury, which has left the team short of firepower up front.

According to talkSPORT, the 21-year-old Slovenian international is keen on a move to the Emirates, despite interest from Chelsea and Manchester United. Sesko has been in impressive form this season, scoring 14 goals in 27 appearances, making him one of Europe’s most promising young forwards.

Spanish outlet TodoFichajes reports that Arsenal have submitted a formal €70 million offer in their bid to secure the striker’s signature. Barcelona, despite their ongoing financial troubles, are also monitoring the player, but Arsenal are currently leading the race to sign him.

RB Leipzig Holding Firm

Despite Arsenal’s advances, RB Leipzig have publicly denied any plans for a mid-season sale. Speaking to Sky Sport Germany, Leipzig’s sporting director Marcel Schäfer dismissed rumors of ongoing negotiations:
“There is definitely no contact with any other club or any discussions regarding Benjamin Sesko. We are very happy to have Benji in our squad. He is one of the top attacking talents in Europe and is currently in excellent form. He will continue to wear the RB Leipzig jersey.”

Sesko’s current contract with Leipzig runs until 2028, and his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) is €59.4 million. While the club insists he is not for sale this winter, Arsenal’s desperation and the player’s reported interest in joining the Gunners could play a significant role in the coming days.

Arsenal’s Transfer Push

The North London club has been actively seeking reinforcements in attack since Jesus’ injury. They were previously linked with Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic, but negotiations have reportedly broken down, ruling out a January deal.

As the transfer window nears its close, all eyes will be on Arsenal and their pursuit of Sesko. A successful acquisition could provide the Gunners with the edge they need to sustain their title ambitions and add depth to their squad.
