The Belgian forward, who recently signed improved terms, will not be making a late-window move to Besiktas.
Arsenal forward Leandro Trossard will be staying in North London, with a potential late-summer move to Turkish club Besiktas now off the table. The decision solidifies the Belgian’s commitment to the Gunners shortly after agreeing to a new contract with the club.
Trossard’s name had recently been linked with a surprise exit, as Besiktas—with their transfer window still open—were reportedly seeking a high-profile winger. Speculation intensified with claims of a €22 million offer from the Turkish giants, suggesting Arsenal might be open to a deal, especially following the arrival of new attacking talent.
However, according to renowned transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, a transfer is not in the cards. Despite the increased competition for places in Mikel Arteta’s squad, Romano states there is ‘no chance’ of the 30-year-old departing for Turkey.
This assurance comes just weeks after Trossard and the club finalized a new agreement, which included a pay raise reflecting his valued role in the team. While the recent signing of Eberechi Eze may impact his playing time, the club’s decision to reward Trossard with a new deal so recently signals their intent to keep him as a key part of the squad for the season ahead.
