The mother at the center of the ongoing paternity dispute with Afrobeats star Davido has issued a lengthy, emotional public rebuttal, directly denying his characterization of her and demanding a new, transparent DNA test supervised by U.S. authorities.
In a detailed Instagram post from her daughter account, Ayo Labinjoh identified herself and pushed back fiercely against claims made by Davido, whose real name is David Adeleke. “I am NOT Davido’s baby mama or a bitch,” she wrote. “I was a waitress and not picked up on the streets. I come from a good home.”
Labinjoh framed the conflict as a battle for her daughter Anu’s identity and mental health, alleging that Anu has suffered years of bullying, including fainting at school and requiring psychotherapy, due to the public controversy.
She directly challenged Davido’s assertion that he has never met her and his claim of having undergone five DNA tests. “To my shock, she was trending on X because her dad needed to call me a bitch that he’s never met, yet he subjected himself to a DNA test 5X?” she wrote.
The heart of her new allegation concerns a test from 2014. Labinjoh claims that Dr. Deji Adeleke, Davido’s uncle, took them to a lab—not a hospital—where Anu’s blood was drawn and then discarded. She alleges a “fake result was printed” with the help of a lab technician masquerading as a doctor.
“We wasted our time, disrupted Anu’s mental health, then they lied that we did two tests, now 5,” she stated.
Labinjoh’s proposed resolution is a drastic escalation: citing Davido’s U.S. citizenship, she announced her intent to “request the US State Department to contact the Embassy in Lagos or Abuja to help us supervise and witness a clean, independent DNA test.”
She concluded by condemning the singer’s recent direct contact with her daughter, alleging, “David chatted my daughter tonight threatening to lock me up, cursing Anu and repeatedly bullying her… My daughter did not beg to be here. Bullying my daughter is WRONG.”
