Nigerian Singer’s Initiative Brings Clean Water to Community After 20-Year Struggle, Garners Mixed Reactions
Nigerian singer Ayra Starr has expressed her joy and satisfaction following the successful completion of a borehole installation in the Orimolade Ifako Community, a milestone achieved as part of her “E dey rush” campaign aimed at providing clean and safe water to underserved communities.
The community, which had endured a water scarcity crisis for over two decades, welcomed the borehole installation with gratitude and relief. Ayra Starr’s initiative, launched last year, sought to address the pressing need for access to clean water, recognizing it as a fundamental right for all individuals.
In a statement of appreciation, Ayra Starr extended her gratitude to her partners, Hope Spring Water and Mavin Records, for their collaboration and support in realizing the project’s objectives. She expressed her delight at witnessing the tangible impact of their collective efforts in improving the lives of community members.
“I started the ‘E dey Rush’ campaign last year to provide clean and safe water to communities. I’m so happy to see the Orimolade Ifako Community getting their borehole installation. I’m grateful for the partnership of @hopespringwater & @mavinrecords to make this happen. Everyone deserves good water,” Ayra Starr remarked, underscoring the campaign’s core mission.
