Open Training Session Offers First Glimpse of New-Look Stadium and Key Injury Updates for Squad
For the first time in two and a half years, the roar of the crowd echoed through Camp Nou as Barcelona welcomed fans back to their iconic home for an open training session, offering a hopeful glimpse into the club’s future.
A crowd of nearly 22,000 supporters paid between €5 and €10 for the emotional homecoming, getting their first look at the partially renovated stadium. The session also provided positive news on the injury front, with goalkeeper Joan Garcia making a surprise return to full training ahead of schedule.
Defender Andreas Christensen also rejoined the group, while Eric Garcia trained normally with a protective mask after suffering a broken nose.
The event marks a major milestone in the club’s massive stadium overhaul. While currently licensed for 27,000 fans, club president Joan Laporta has expressed confidence that the team will play its first official match back at a near-half-capacity Camp Nou against Athletic Club on November 29th, fueling excitement for a full return to the fortress that has been silent for so long.
