Barcelona Set Tough Conditions for Rashford Move

Man United Outcast Must Force Exit for “Dream” Camp Nou Transfer

Barcelona have thrown Marcus Rashford a career lifeline – but the Catalan giants are demanding the Manchester United forward take drastic action to secure his move to Spain.

According to reports from Spain, Barcelona sporting director Deco has told Rashford’s camp the only possible deal would be a loan with a significant salary reduction and no obligation to buy. The 27-year-old, who revived his career during a productive loan spell at Aston Villa last season, must now decide whether to push for an exit from Old Trafford on Barcelona’s strict terms.

“Deco has made it clear – we won’t do this deal at any price,” a source close to negotiations revealed. “Rashford represents a risk after his inconsistent form, so the conditions must be exceptional.”

The England international’s relationship with United turned sour under new manager Ruben Amorim last season, culminating in a January loan to Villa where he registered 10 goal contributions in 17 games. That resurgence put him back on Barcelona’s radar, with manager Hansi Flick reportedly keen to add the versatile attacker despite closing in on Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams.

But Barcelona’s financial constraints mean they’re playing hardball. The La Liga side want Rashford to:

  • Take a substantial pay cut from his current £300,000 weekly wages
  • Convince United to sanction a loan without a mandatory purchase option
  • Potentially forfeit performance-related bonuses

“The ball is in Rashford’s court now,” the source added. “Barcelona see this as his chance to prove he still belongs at the highest level after several difficult years.”
