Harry Kane Praises Team’s Grit After Narrow 2-1 Win in Miami
Bayern Munich expected a tough test against Boca Juniors—but the Argentine giants gave them even more than they bargained for. In a fiery encounter at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium, the German champions were pushed to their limits before securing a narrow 2-1 victory, thanks to a late winner from Michael Olise.
Harry Kane, who opened the scoring for Bayern, admitted afterward that the match was far from straightforward.

“Big performance from the boys tonight,” the England captain said. *“We knew it would be a hostile atmosphere. I thought we should’ve been 3 or 4-0 up in the first half, but Boca made it really difficult. They’re a tougher opponent than what we faced in Auckland. I’m happy to have helped the team with the goal, but the most important thing was getting the win.”*
South American sides had been unbeaten in the tournament before this clash, adding extra motivation for both teams. Bayern, however, showed their resilience, with Olise’s decisive strike ensuring they remain on track for the knockout stages. Now, the focus shifts to securing top spot in the group.
“This is a massive tournament, and we want to compete at the highest level,” Kane added. “It’s all about us—our mentality, our standards. So far, so good, but we’ve got to keep it going.”
With pre-season preparations heating up, Bayern’s hard-fought win serves as both a warning and a confidence boost—they can grind out results when needed, but there’s still work to be done.
