The English midfielder, sidelined since summer shoulder surgery, is ahead of schedule in his recovery and could feature against Marseille.
In a welcome boost for Real Madrid, star midfielder Jude Bellingham has been named in the 23-man squad for the team’s Champions League opener against Marseille on Tuesday. This marks a significant and accelerated step in his recovery from a persistent shoulder injury.
Bellingham has been absent since undergoing surgery in mid-July to address a problem that had troubled him since first dislocating the shoulder last November. The procedure was expected to keep him out for up to three months, but his rehabilitation has progressed faster than anticipated.

Last week, the England international returned to training, albeit in non-contact sessions. His inclusion in the squad is a promising sign that a return to action is imminent. Manager Xabi Alonso struck an optimistic tone, saying, “Jude has made a great effort in his recovery… Let’s see if next week he can take steps forward. We’re waiting for him.”
The news gets even better for Madrid fans, as midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, who has also been sidelined this season with an ankle issue, has been included in the squad as well. The potential return of two key players provides a major lift for the Spanish giants as they begin their European campaign.
