Bukayo Saka Suffers Hamstring Injury During England’s Defeat to Greece

Arsenal star forced off in the 52nd minute as injury concerns grow ahead of crucial fixtures.

England’s U21 manager, Lee Carsley, has provided an update on Bukayo Saka after the Arsenal winger sustained a hamstring injury during England’s 1-0 loss to Greece on Thursday night. Saka was substituted in the 52nd minute, with Noni Madueke replacing him, after appearing to suffer discomfort while attempting a cross.

The injury has raised concerns for Arsenal, who are awaiting further medical assessment to determine the severity. A mild hamstring tightness could see Saka sidelined for only a few days, but a more serious strain could result in weeks out of action.

Speaking after the match, Carsley addressed the injury: “He’s being assessed. Obviously, in the build-up to the first goal, you could see he felt something in his leg.” Arsenal fans will be anxiously awaiting updates as Saka undergoes evaluation.
