A businessman claims the Nollywood star used his vehicle and driver for over a week but failed to pay the full amount, culminating in a dispute at the airport.
A car hire operator is publicly appealing to Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, alleging she owes him ₦570,000 for a 10-day rental service that ended without full payment.
The businessman detailed that he was contacted nearly two weeks ago to provide a Toyota Prado for a client in Maitama, who was later revealed to be the famous actress. The initial agreement, brokered by an aide, was for two days at a rate of ₦150,000 per day.
According to his account, when the initial two days ended, the arrangement was extended personally by Regina Daniels. “She spoke to me herself, saying she would be paying,” he stated. They agreed on a daily payment structure where ₦30,000 would be deducted for fuel, leaving a daily balance of ₦120,000.
The situation came to a head at the airport. The operator, alerted that the actress was leaving, rushed to meet them. He claims that Regina Daniels boarded a chartered flight without settling the outstanding balance of ₦570,000. When he confronted her aide, she allegedly insisted the payment had been made but could not provide any proof. The matter was reportedly escalated to a police station, where the aide allegedly escaped.
The car hire owner is now seeking public assistance to recover the debt. At the time of this report, Regina Daniels has not publicly responded to the allegations.
