Trasnfer Gossip: Chelsea in ‘pole’ for Man Utd midfield target as Neymar could replace Lukaku

Chelsea dominate the gossip and it looks like Tyler Adams could be next in the door, while they are still tempted by the Neymar circus.

CHELSEA IN ‘POLE POSITION’ FOR ADAMS
We have seen many, many links between Manchester United and Leeds midfielder Tyler Adams but the Daily Telegraph now claim that Chelsea are in ‘pole position’ to land the US midfielder this summer. With a release clause rumoured to be just £20m, that would be a bargain.

The deal is said to be ‘independent’ to the Moises Caicedo move from Brighton, which is expected to go ahead as soon as Chelsea accept that they must pay £100m for the Ecuadorean. Chelsea certainly need two central midfielders after being left with just Enzo Fernandez and Conor Gallagher as senior options in that position.

According to the Telegraph: ‘In a busy summer, Chelsea have also looked at attacking midfielders including Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise and Mohammed Kudus, who Brighton are also in the race for. Pochettino would also like a striker.’

NO, NEY, MAYBE
We said three months ago that Chelsea should lean into the Neymar circus and it seems that is still a possibility as RMC Sport (in France) claim that his agents ‘never broke off’ communication with the Blues. They might well be the only club outside Saudi Arabia willing to pay his ludicrous salary.

Despite the exit of Lionel Messi to Inter Miami and whatever the latest news is with Kylian Mbappe, PSG are said to be still very much open to offloading the Brazilian. He would favour a return to Barcelona but Xavi is having none of that, while interest from Brazil seems moot while he still wants to earn silly money. So step forward Chelsea, who could even agree a loan with PSG for the ‘enigmatic’ forward.

LUK WHO MIGHT BE OFF
There has been some talk of a swap deal involving Romelu Lukaku and £34m for Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic, but with the Serb currently in Germany having investigations into an ongoing lumbago problem, it might be that Chelsea – who already have one striker sidelined in Christopher Nkunku – look elsewhere for another forward. Maybe towards PSG and Neymar.

But Sport Italia claim that Juventus are still interested in Lukaku regardless; he is so far out of the picture at Chelsea that he does not even have a squad number. The move is hitting some resistance with former Juventus players, with Luca Toni vocal in saying that Juve should keep hold of Vlahovic and his potential rather than opting for Serie A title winner Lukaku.
