Chelsea Targets New Forwards After Missing Out on Michael Olise

Focus Shifts to Young Talents Pau Guiu and Jonathan David

Chelsea is making significant moves to strengthen their attack, even after missing out on Michael Olise. The Blues are now targeting Barcelona’s young star Pau Guiu and Lille’s prolific forward Jonathan David. Additionally, Chelsea remains in the market for a right winger following their unsuccessful pursuit of the Crystal Palace star.

Despite suggestions that Chelsea might focus on the left side of their attack, sources confirm that bolstering the right-wing position is still a priority. The club’s interest in Olise fell through primarily due to his high wage demands of around £220,000 per week. Although Chelsea could have met these demands, they chose not to disrupt their wage structure. Olise’s desire to be the main star did not align with Chelsea’s vision of team cohesion and multiple attacking options.

Now, Chelsea is setting its sights on Pau Guiu, a promising young talent from Barcelona. The 17-year-old has a release clause of €6 million and is eager to join the Premier League side. This move reflects Chelsea’s strategy of investing in young, promising players for the future.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich has successfully signed Olise from Crystal Palace for €60 million, including add-ons. The Bundesliga club secured the 22-year-old winger’s services until 2029, beating out competition from Chelsea and other top clubs. Despite an injury-hit season, Olise managed to score 10 goals and provide six assists in 19 appearances last year.

Chelsea’s focus on young talents like Guiu and proven scorers like Jonathan David indicates their commitment to building a robust and dynamic attack for the upcoming seasons.
