Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja Issues Warning at Chief Clerks Convention in Kaduna
In a bid to address the persistent issue of leaked official documents, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, has expressed deep concern and called for immediate action. The COAS charged chief clerks with the responsibility of effective office management to curb the recurring leakage of sensitive information.
The directive was delivered during the opening of the 2023 Chief Clerks convention held in Kaduna on Tuesday, where 450 chief clerks gathered to discuss strategies for better office management and data security.
Represented by Brigadier General Moses Gara, the Chief of Staff of the 1st Division, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja emphasized the crucial role of chief clerks as custodians of official documents and sensitive information. He urged the participating clerks to collectively resolve to decisively address the threat posed by the continuous leakage of official documents.
The COAS’s warning comes at a time when safeguarding sensitive information is of paramount importance, especially in the military domain. As custodians of vital documents, chief clerks play a pivotal role in ensuring the security and integrity of official records.
The convention serves as a platform for these key personnel to exchange ideas, share best practices, and develop effective strategies to enhance office management and prevent unauthorized access to confidential materials. The call to action from Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja underscores the military’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of security and confidentiality in its operations.
