Despite swirling rumors linking him with a sensational return to Manchester, Chelsea playmaker Cole Palmer is not seeking a move away from Stamford Bridge, according to top transfer insider Fabrizio Romano. Recent reports had suggested the 23-year-old was “homesick” and prepared to request a transfer, with Manchester United named as a top suitor allegedly readying a massive £120 million offer.
Romano has firmly dismissed these claims, emphasizing that both the player and the club are aligned. “Chelsea’s position is very clear. They see Palmer as a crucial part of their project,” Romano stated. He echoed comments from Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior, who confirmed, “I had several conversations with Cole and he’s very happy here.”
Palmer’s rise since his £42.5 million move from Manchester City has been remarkable, establishing him as one of the Premier League’s most influential attackers. While injuries have hampered his current season, his importance to Chelsea’s long-term vision remains undiminished.
Despite the public reassurance, speculation continues elsewhere. A report from Spanish outlet Fichajes insists Palmer “wants to leave” and that Manchester United have the financial flexibility to make an “unprecedented effort” to sign him, citing his emotional ties to Manchester as a key factor.
For now, however, Chelsea’s stance is one of calm resolution. The club is not on alert for a sale and continues to count on Palmer as a cornerstone of their future. As Romano concluded, while rumors will always follow a player of his caliber, “as of today, January, nothing is happening.”
