Morocco International Defender Poised to Join Red Devils Despite Initial Setback
Manchester United is on the verge of completing a deal to sign Bayern Munich right-back Noussair Mazraoui, with reports detailing the imminent transfer’s timeline. Despite having an initial double bid for Bayern defenders Matthijs de Ligt and Mazraoui rejected, FootMercato indicates that Mazraoui has been granted permission to fly to Manchester and finalize his move to Old Trafford.
The 26-year-old Moroccan international is eager to join United, having previously turned down an offer from West Ham. With West Ham now pursuing Manchester United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka instead, the stage is set for Mazraoui’s transfer.
Sky Sports Deutschland reports: “After Niclas Fullkrug, Guido Rodriguez, and Summerville, West Ham is now pushing to finalize the deal with Aaron Wan-Bissaka. West Ham is confident of finalizing the deal in the next few days, but for now, no agreement with Man Utd has been reached. A verbal agreement with Wan-Bissaka is done, with a contract until 2029.”
FootMercato adds that “everything is done” in the deal for Mazraoui to join Manchester United. “Noussair Mazraoui will join Manchester United,” it declares. “Bayern Munich has authorized Mazraoui to join Man Utd. The Moroccan right-back will take a private flight in the next few days. If nothing changes, the medical test is booked for Tuesday. The contract is valid until June 2029, with an additional one-year option. Erik ten Hag wants Mazraoui for the Community Shield.”
However, Sky Sports counters that no formal agreement has been reached between the clubs, though the deal appears to be progressing rapidly.
