Music Exec Praises Tega’s Passion and Vision in Elevating African Music on a Global Scale
Nigerian music mogul and Mavin Records founder, Don Jazzy, has officially promoted Tega Oghenejobo, also known as Tega Mavin, to President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the record label. Don Jazzy announced the appointment on social media, expressing deep pride in Tega’s growth and dedication to Mavin Records and the African music industry.
Reflecting on Tega’s journey, Don Jazzy shared how he’s seen Tega’s commitment to not only Mavin but to African music as a whole. He described Tega as a resilient and curious leader who has continually focused on team-building and talent development. “I am often praised for spotting superstars, but the most genius thing I have done is recognizing Tega’s passion and resilience. From the early days, I’ve watched him build teams and develop executives, ensuring our talents have sustainable careers,” he wrote.
Tega’s new role, according to Don Jazzy, will support Mavin’s vision of breaking new ground and scaling even greater heights for its artists and African music globally.
