Fans Express Fury Over Alleged Donation to Nigerian Crossdresser
Nigerian music icon Michael Collins Ajereh, better known as Don Jazzy, is facing a wave of intense backlash on social media following reports of his alleged substantial financial donation to popular crossdresser Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky.
The controversy erupted after Bobrisky publicly thanked several male celebrities for their generous contributions, which collectively amounted to N30.6 million. Don Jazzy was named among those who reportedly donated, with allegations that he sent a staggering N4 million. Other notable figures mentioned included football star Victor Osimhen, who allegedly donated N3 million, actor Yhemo Lee with N1.5 million, and socialite Abu Abel, who purportedly gave N1 million.
Bobrisky’s revelation came after he had already praised top female celebrities, such as Tonto Dikeh and Funke Akindele, who collectively contributed N18.7 million. However, it was the mention of Don Jazzy and other male celebrities that ignited a firestorm of criticism.
Many fans, feeling betrayed by what they perceive as a departure from traditional values, have flooded Don Jazzy’s Instagram page with angry comments, accusing him of endorsing behaviors they believe are contrary to Nigerian cultural norms.
