Donnarumma’s Agent Blasts PSG Over “Shocking Lack of Respect” as Man City Move Looms

Italian Goalkeeper Frozen Out After Champions League Glory – Premier League Seen as Only Escape Route

Gianluigi Donnarumma’s future at Paris Saint-Germain appears to be over in acrimonious fashion, with his agent launching a furious attack on the club’s treatment of the Euro 2020 winner – while a potential escape route to Manchester City gathers pace.

Enzo Raiola, representing the 25-year-old goalkeeper, told Sky Italia he was “shocked” by PSG’s conduct after the club abruptly reversed course on contract renewal talks and made it clear Donnarumma – a key part of their Champions League-winning campaign – was no longer wanted.

“There’s zero respect from the club after four years together,” Raiola fumed. “We even accepted a lower salary offer because Gigio wanted to stay. Then they changed everything. To dismiss him like this after all he’s done? It’s unacceptable.”

The situation has escalated quickly. Just a month ago, renewal discussions were ongoing, but manager Luis Enrique has now reportedly decided to move on, leaving Donnarumma in limbo with one year left on his deal. Raiola suggested legal action may follow, questioning whether the decision was purely sporting or financially motivated.

Premier League Lifeline
According to L’Équipe, Manchester City have moved ahead of rivals United in the race to sign the Italian, with Donnarumma having already agreed personal terms and even spoken directly with Pep Guardiola. The sticking point remains PSG’s inflated asking price – something Raiola believes only English clubs can meet.

“Perhaps only in the Premier League can they satisfy PSG’s exaggerated demands,” he said, dripping with sarcasm. “They talk about respect, but maybe it’s only about money now.”

Donnarumma’s abrupt fall from grace is particularly jarring given his role in PSG’s historic European triumph. After arriving on a free transfer from AC Milan in 2021, he’s made 145 appearances for the Parisians but now faces being cast aside as the club pursues a new No. 1.

With the transfer window heating up, all eyes are on whether City will meet PSG’s valuation – and if Donnarumma’s messy Paris exit will finally grant him a fresh start in England.
