Senior Players Reportedly Question Four of Ten Hag’s Transfers and Express Concerns About Playing Style
The unrest within Manchester United’s squad appears to be deepening as reports suggest that four signings made by manager Erik ten Hag are facing scrutiny from senior players. According to the Manchester Evening News, questions have been raised about the impact and value of certain acquisitions.
One player is reportedly “particularly perplexed” by the addition of Rasmus Hojlund, a £72 million signing who has yet to find the back of the net in the Premier League. Antony, Wout Weghorst, who scored only twice in 31 appearances, and Mason Mount are also said to be among the signings drawing scrutiny.
This revelation comes on the heels of recent reports indicating that Ten Hag has lost sections of the dressing room. Sky Sports’ chief reporter, Kaveh Solhekol, shed light on the situation, stating, “Quite a few players are unhappy with the style of play, they also feel that they’re training too hard and that they’re running too much during training.”
Solhekol further revealed that players are questioning the purpose of their rigorous training sessions, expressing confusion about the goals and objectives. Some senior players have reportedly approached Ten Hag, sharing concerns about the direction of the club and advocating for a more empathetic and flexible managerial approach.
While Ten Hag’s management style is described as “too set in his ways” and “robotic” by some players, the manager remains resolute in his methods. Despite feedback from the squad, it seems Ten Hag is determined to implement his strategies.
As the tension within Manchester United continues to escalate, fans and football pundits eagerly await developments to see how the club navigates these internal challenges under the leadership of Erik ten Hag.
