When you’ve spent a million dollars on Tupac Shakur’s iconic gold, ruby, and diamond crown ring, you want the world to know. Drake, the renowned rapper, recently displayed the historic piece he acquired at auction, first flashing it in one of his Instagram stories last week. Now, in a recent interview with Sidetalk NYC at the Starlets strip club, Drake proudly showcased the custom ring worn by Shakur during his final public appearance at the 1996 MTV Video Music Awards.
During the interview, Drake boasted to the show’s host about his son Adonis’ mother, Sophie Brussaux, who had earned a spot on the club’s wall of fame. Pointing at the legendary ring adorning his pinkie, the rapper flexed, “I’m wearing Pac’s ring. They got my baby mama on the wall over there.”
As the interview continued, Drake was asked about the top quality he looks for in a potential partner, to which he replied, “humor.” He humorously noted that if a woman couldn’t find his glassy-eyed interview funny, then she’s not the one for him.
The video also included scenes of the club’s dancers showering themselves with piles of money, inviting viewers to visit the venue. Drake playfully teased the show’s host, Trent Simonian, about his all-black basic outfit, jokingly wondering if Simonian could “pull a batty” at the club with that attire. Drake also revealed that, according to him, Denver has the highest density of desirable individuals.
Drake, alongside 21 Savage, will be performing at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia tonight (August 1). Unfortunately, the rapper had to cancel a previously postponed show at the FedExForum, initially scheduled for August 6, citing production issues. The Memphis show had initially been set for June 29, marking the tour’s kick-off date.
