Edo Killings: DSS Nabs Two Key Suspects as Manhunt Intensifies

Governor Vows Justice for Slain Travelers, 14 Others Already in Custody

The Department of State Services (DSS) has apprehended two prime suspects linked to last week’s brutal killing of 16 travelers in Uromi, Edo State, marking a significant breakthrough in the high-profile case.

Governor Monday Okpebholo’s Chief Press Secretary, Friday Ituah, confirmed the arrests on Tuesday, revealing that security operatives tracked down the suspects in Uromi town through credible intelligence. The detained individuals have since been transferred to Abuja for intensive interrogation and prosecution.

This development comes as Governor Okpebholo personally visited Kano State on Monday to console grieving families, pledging that justice would prevail. “Fourteen suspects are already in custody,” the governor disclosed during his emotional visit, emphasizing that all perpetrators would face the full wrath of the law. He further promised adequate compensation for victims’ families.

Security forces continue combing operations across Esan North-East LGA to apprehend remaining suspects connected to the shocking attack that has left the nation reeling. The governor’s office assures residents that enhanced security measures are being implemented to prevent future tragedies.

As investigations deepen in Abuja, Edo residents anxiously await answers about the motive behind the deadly assault, while authorities work to restore shattered trust in the region’s security framework.
