EFCC Busts Cybercrime Syndicate: 45 Arrested in Lagos Raid

Suspects Apprehended in Ikorodu with Exotic Cars, High-Tech Devices, and Laptops

In a significant crackdown on cybercrime, operatives from the Lagos Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have apprehended 45 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud.

The arrests, which occurred on Monday, March 11, 2024, in Ikorodu, Lagos, were the result of intelligence gathering on the activities of an Organised Cybercrime Syndicate Network (OCSN) operating within that region of the state.

During the operation, law enforcement agents recovered a cache of incriminating items from the suspects at the time of their arrest. Among the seized items were exotic vehicles, sophisticated mobile devices, and a multitude of laptops believed to have been utilized in the commission of cybercrimes.

With the investigative process underway, the detained individuals are slated to face legal proceedings in court once the EFCC concludes its inquiries into their alleged criminal activities.
