Basketmouth’s Ex-Wife Urges Netizens to Respect Her Privacy
Nigerian comedian and actor Bright Okpocha, popularly known as Basketmouth, has been a topic of discussion recently as his ex-wife, Elsie Okpocha, addressed those urging her to reconcile with him. In a heartfelt Instagram video, Elsie expressed her frustration with unsolicited advice and comments on her social media posts.
Elsie, a mother of two, explained why she has no intention of returning to her ex-husband, countering frequent comments suggesting she should reconcile. She emphasized that no woman leaves her marriage lightly and that significant effort is always made to save the relationship before it ends.
“I don’t know why a woman would post a picture or video of her living her life and you go under the comment section and see comments like, ‘go back to your husband’s house; I know you’re not happy; You’re just pretending,’” she said.
Elsie urged people to respect her privacy and understand that a marriage ending does not mean a lack of effort. She added, “Why would you think a woman would wake up and leave her marriage just like that? It doesn’t work that way; both parties would’ve tried to work it out and at the point where it is not working out, they go their separate ways.”
She concluded by reminding everyone to mind their own business and questioned why the same pressure isn’t placed on men to return to their wives.
