Bellingham and Kane Rescue Three Lions Against Slovakia
England has advanced to the quarterfinals of Euro 2024 after a thrilling match against Slovakia. Dramatic late goals from Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane saved the team from an unexpected early exit.
The game seemed destined for an embarrassing defeat for England, with Slovakia leading 1-0 thanks to a goal from Ivan Schranz in the 25th minute. For much of the match, England struggled to find their rhythm and looked set to bow out early.
However, in the 95th minute, Jude Bellingham produced a stunning overhead kick to level the score, igniting hope for the Three Lions.
The match then went into extra time, and Harry Kane quickly capitalized on the momentum.
In the first minute of extra time, Kane headed in the winning goal after Ivan Toney’s strong header set him up.
This incredible turnaround left Slovakia deflated and unable to respond, securing England’s place in the quarterfinals. They will now face Switzerland, carrying the momentum of their dramatic comeback.
Meanwhile, hosts Germany will face Spain in a highly anticipated quarterfinal clash. Spain overcame an early deficit to defeat Georgia 4-1, with goals from Rodri, Fabian Ruiz, Nico Williams, and Dani Olmo, setting up a repeat of the Euro 2008 final.
