Rapper Believes Controversy with Rihanna Hindered Brown’s Potential
American Hip Hop superstar Fat Joe recently claimed that R&B singer Chris Brown could have been the new generation’s “King of Pop,” comparable to Michael Jackson, if it weren’t for his early career controversy with Rihanna.
During an episode of his podcast, “The Biggest Fat Joe,” the legendary rapper praised Chris Brown as the most talented singer, hitmaker, and performer of this era. Fat Joe stressed that society should move past the incident, which occurred over a decade ago, noting that Brown hasn’t been involved in similar controversies since then.
Fat Joe expressed disappointment that music fans haven’t recognized Chris Brown as the King of R&B due to the past incident.
“If Chris Brown never got into the controversy with Rihanna, we would be calling him Michael Jackson right now,” Fat Joe said. “He’s the most talented singer, artist, performer, and hitmaker of our time. There’s nobody even close to Chris Brown.”
