Brazilian’s Brace Seals El Clásico Triumph as Coach Praises Winger’s Impact on Team Intensity
Barcelona manager Hansi Flick lavished praise on match-winner Raphinha after the Brazilian’s two goals secured a dramatic 3-2 victory over Real Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup final on Sunday, highlighting the winger’s resilience and infectious energy.
Raphinha, who recently returned from a two-month injury layoff, now has seven goals in his last five games. After missing an early chance in Jeddah, he opened the scoring and later struck the decisive deflected winner from outside the box to clinch the trophy.

“His mentality is unbelievable, his dynamic affects the whole team,” Flick told reporters. “He missed the first chance but the second one, he was there… This is what Raphinha brings on the pitch—it’s a lot of intensity, and we need this.”

The victory extends Barcelona’s winning streak to 10 matches across all competitions and maintains Flick’s perfect record in finals as a coach, now standing at eight out of eight.
“This final was very important for us because against Real Madrid it’s always something special,” Flick added. “Again we won a final, and this is fantastic.”
The German manager also expressed joy at the return of defender Ronald Araújo, who came on late in the match after taking a month-long break for mental health reasons.
“To be on the pitch and to win this title means a lot for him,” Flick said. “I’m really happy that he’s back, and we will support him always.”
With the Super Cup secured, Flick’s focused side now turns its attention to maintaining their La Liga lead and chasing further silverware, buoyed by a star winger in peak form and a squad growing in belief.
