Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has reportedly separated from his wife, Cristina Serra, after three decades together. The couple, who have three children, are said to have parted ways amicably, according to reports in Spain.

A Long-Standing Union Comes to an End

Guardiola and Serra met in 1994 when Guardiola was a player at Barcelona, but they didn’t marry until 2014 in an intimate ceremony. They share three children: daughters Maria and Valentina, and son Marius.

Reports suggest that the couple has been living apart for years, with Serra relocating to Barcelona in 2019 alongside one of their children. Guardiola remained in Manchester, where he has been managing City since 2016. Despite the physical distance, they continued to maintain a cordial relationship and were recently seen together at Christmas, attending the theatre with one of their daughters.

Personal Changes Amid Professional Focus

However, uncertainty looms over the future of City captain Kyle Walker, who has expressed interest in leaving the club during the January transfer window. Addressing Walker’s situation, Guardiola said, “I don’t know. It depends on how we are going to train and on him. The transfer window will finish when it finishes, and I don’t know what’s going to happen.”

The City boss praised Walker’s abilities, saying, “He is an incredible player with incredible physicality. When he’s focused, he’s unstoppable as a right-back. If he wants to explore a move away, the club will explore that with him. Ultimately, it’s his decision.”
