Bundesliga Forward’s Stellar Season Draws Interest from Top Clubs, with City Preparing to Initiate Talks
The race to secure Eintracht Frankfurt forward Omar Marmoush is heating up as the 25-year-old continues to impress in the Bundesliga this season. Despite multiple clubs keeping a close watch, no formal offers have been made yet.
Renowned journalist Ben Jacobs reported that Manchester City is actively monitoring Marmoush, though formal discussions between the clubs have not yet occurred. The Egyptian forward remains a top target for the Premier League champions, who could potentially move for him during the January transfer window.
City’s interest in Marmoush stems not just from his goal-scoring prowess but also his ability to provide depth in the squad, especially with gaps left by players like Julián Álvarez. However, Frankfurt’s focus on their UEFA Champions League campaign may deter them from selling the in-form forward midseason.
Reports from Sky Sports indicate that Marmoush has already expressed a willingness to join Manchester City. In response, City is preparing to open negotiations, with Frankfurt valuing the player at €80 million (£67 million). City is expected to counter with a bid in the range of €50-€60 million (£42-£50 million).
Meanwhile, Frankfurt appears open to letting Marmoush go if their €60 million (£50 million) valuation is met. Adding to the competition, Paris Saint-Germain scouts reportedly attended Frankfurt’s Europa League match against Midtjylland to assess Marmoush’s performance.
The Egyptian forward, 24, has been in sensational form this season, tallying 18 goals and 12 assists in 24 appearances across all competitions. As Manchester City ramps up its pursuit, this transfer saga is shaping up to be one to watch in the coming weeks.
