Former Big Brother Naija reality star, Beauty Tukura, has raised concerns about the popular reality show, describing it as “extremely toxic” and suggesting that it may be deliberately designed to be so. During a recent podcast appearance, the former beauty queen expressed her thoughts on the negative aspects of the show and the impact it has on both contestants and viewers.
Beauty, who was disqualified from the show for violating the house rules, shared her sentiments about her brief stint in the Big Brother House. Reflecting on her experience, she stated, “I was only in the Big Brother House for two weeks, and the circumstances surrounding my departure prevented many people from truly getting to know me. There’s a certain atmosphere in the Big Brother House that is hard to explain. It is extremely toxic.”
In addition to addressing the toxicity within the house, Beauty highlighted that this negative influence often extends beyond the show itself, impacting viewers and fan communities as well. She observed that the show’s structure appears to encourage and perpetuate this toxic behavior.
Despite her critical stance towards the show, Beauty made it clear that she does not regret her decision to participate in Big Brother Naija. Her comments shed light on the potential consequences of reality TV and the need for careful consideration of its impact on contestants’ well-being and the wider audience.
