Galatasaray Set to Improve Bid for Victor Osimhen as Napoli Hold Firm on €75 Million Clause

Turkish giants ramp up pursuit of Nigerian striker, who has already agreed personal terms amid interest from Saudi Arabia and Europe.

Galatasaray are preparing an improved offer for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen after seeing their initial €60 million bid rejected, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. The Italian journalist reports that the Turkish club remains determined to secure the Nigerian star’s signature and will soon return with a higher bid, though Napoli are holding out for a fee closer to Osimhen’s €75 million release clause.

In a major boost for Galatasaray, Osimhen has already agreed to a contract until 2028, meaning only the transfer fee stands in the way of completing the blockbuster move. The 26-year-old has reportedly turned down multiple lucrative offers from Saudi Arabia, including from Al-Hilal, as he prefers to continue playing in Europe.

Despite earlier hopes of a move to the Premier League or another top European club—with Juventus among his admirers—Osimhen now appears set to stay in Turkey after a highly successful loan spell with Galatasaray last season. The Super Lig champions are eager to make his stay permanent following his 36-goal campaign, which helped them clinch the league title.

Osimhen’s future at Napoli has been in doubt since a falling-out with the club last year, and he has no intention of returning to the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. His contract includes a €75 million release clause, valid only for foreign clubs between July 1 and 15, adding urgency to Galatasaray’s efforts.

With the clock ticking, the next few days could prove decisive in determining whether the Turkish side can meet Napoli’s demands and finalize one of the summer’s most high-profile transfers.
