Gyokeres Roasts Pundit Micah Richards in Hilarious Live TV Moment (Video)

The Arsenal striker, fresh from a match-winning brace, showed his quick wit in a memorable post-match interview at the Emirates.

Fresh from scoring two goals in Arsenal’s 4-0 demolition of Atletico Madrid, striker Viktor Gyokeres proved he’s just as sharp with his wit as he is with his finishing in a hilarious live television exchange with pundit Micah Richards.

The moment occurred during a post-match interview on CBS Sports, where Gyokeres was being questioned by a panel including Arsenal legend Thierry Henry and Liverpool veteran Jamie Carragher. The tone turned playful when Richards, who was reporting from the Emirates Stadium instead of his usual studio role, decided to put the Swede on the spot.

“Who is your favourite pundit on our panel?” Richards asked, likely expecting a diplomatic answer.

Gyokeres didn’t miss a beat. “Obviously, I feel a bit sorry for you because you got benched in the studio,” the striker replied with a smile, delivering a perfectly-timed jab at his interviewer. “So, I say you this time.”

The comment sent the entire panel, including a laughing Henry, into hysterics. Carragher was quick to amplify the burn, turning to Richards and exclaiming, “He’s killed you twice!”

“Oh my God, this is not going very well, is it!” a chuckling Richards replied, playing along with the good-natured ribbing.

Later in the interview, Gyokeres was also asked about the pressure of wearing Arsenal’s iconic number 14 shirt, famously worn by Thierry Henry. He handled the question with a mix of respect and refreshing honesty.

“It feels great, to be honest,” Gyokeres said. “It feels like there are a lot of goals in that shirt and it’s a lot of goals to come, so it feels amazing.” He then added with a grin, “To be honest, there wasn’t so many shirt numbers available, but when I saw that was available, of course, it’s a big honour to take it.”

After an evening of scoring goals and winning over fans with his personality, Gyokeres and Arsenal will now turn their attention back to the Premier League and a Sunday clash with Crystal Palace.
